Be a Hero for Kids in Foster Care.

Join us Saturday, October 18th at 8am for the 2025 Superheroes for Kids 5K & Fun Run, where every step, cape, and smile helps children impacted by foster care feel loved, safe, and supported by our community.

October 18, 2025

Put on your cape and lace up your sneakers! The Superheroes for Kids 5K & 1-Mile Fun Run is a family-friendly celebration at Fort Randolph State Historic Park. This day brings together families, friends, and community members to support children and families in foster care.

Whether you run, walk, or cheer from the sidelines, you’re helping us build a stronger community where every child has the chance to thrive.

Why Sponsorship Matters

When you sponsor Superheroes for Kids, you’re doing more than putting your logo on a t-shirt. You’re:

  • Filling the Foster Care Closet with clothing, beds, and essentials for children entering care.

  • Providing First Night Supplies so no child shows up empty-handed on their first night in foster care.

  • Strengthening Families through My Community Cares, giving parents tools and support before crises happen.

  • Guiding Teens in our YOU+CO Youth Development Program, preparing them for adulthood with skills, relationships, and hope.

  • Bringing Joy through the Louisiana Heart Gallery, Christmas Joy Project, and special community moments.

Your sponsorship creates lasting change for children who deserve to feel loved, safe, and supported.

How to Get Involved

  1. Sponsor the Event
Join us as a business, church, or community group and show families that they are not alone.

  2. Register to Run
Sign up for the 5K or the 1-Mile Fun Run and bring your whole family! Costumes are encouraged — capes, masks, and all.

  3. Cheer Them On
Not running? Come enjoy the day, cheer for your heroes, and celebrate with us.

Our Mission in Action

At Fostering Community, our mission is simple but bold: to improve the lives of children impacted by foster care through advocacy, resources, and support.

We’re a grassroots nonprofit offering tangible opportunities for people like you to make a difference — from donating freezer meals to sponsoring events like this one. Together, we are uniting community members who want to make an impact and creating a supportive community where children can thrive.
